Monitor, is it dying?

Hi, I have a Dell S2716DGb monitor and I'm happy with what it does except now when switched it on in the bottom 3 inches there are lots of fine white lines. They clear after 5-10 mins which is weird but handy.
Is it on it's last legs? It's only a few years old and was quite expensive if I recall. Anyone seen this before?

If I need a new one what would be it's equivalent today? I don't need all singing and dancing but the same spec would be nice with G-Sync for my graphics.

Thanks.

I had exactly the same issue on an Acer XB270hu, only it was the top 1 inch of screen.

I figured it was the nvidia g-sync module and it appears yours is also native g-sync.

Donated to a friend but it's still going strong after a year like that.

In normal monitor that's likely cable connection or some component(s) driving that line starting to fail.
Problem disappearing with warming might hint to wire connector with warming of monitor expanding things enough to make firm contact again.
But hard to say precise cause and could be also some hiccup in that Nvidia tax module.

Only thing we can certainly exclude from potential causes is backlight.
And there's certainly clear risk of problem getting worser.
(should happen gradually if it's cable/or component for those particualr lines)

Had it happen on an HP monitor. Finally became a permanent feature, but never got any worse. Ended up replacing the unit a few years later.

If you do need to look at alternatives, Tim at HUB posted a video today that might be worth a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo8B9ksWRa4

Being easily led I just went of his recommendations. Can't buy them anywhere
Found an older model which seems cheap but with decent reviews from when it came out at least the Gigabyte G27Q which is on pre order from OC. They also do the later M27Q but it doesn't offer much more that's of any use to me for the extra money.
