Monitor Issues - Jagged edges, flickering white edges

Hi

Basically, I bought a LG W2361V a little while ago to use pretty much solely to play my PS3 games on.

It seemed like a pretty damn good monitor in terms of specs for the price it was, and I had read some decent reviews of it.

So, the issues. When playing my PS3 games, any one of them (although some a bit more than others, might just be down to the colours in the game), I get an awful lot of 'jaggies' around the edges of objects. This is most noticeable on dark objects when they are next to a light surrounding. These jagged bits scroll along the edge of the object as you change you position and viewing of it.

The other issue, which may be the same thing or related, is a white chunk around objects. It flickers as you move, so coming on and of on the edge of the object, and is very noticeable.

These are most noticeable on games such as Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Medal Of Honor, on which maps in the snow are almost unbearable to play as the buildings are going crazy with these things!
Also, on Gran Turismo 5, the black line where the edge of the door is running down the side of the car is incredibly jagged, and the railings on the sides of the tracks flicker like mad as you move.

I understand that most PS3 games don't have anti-aliasing, or lack it etc, and are going to have some jaggies no matter what TV/monitor your using, but the thing is when I hook my PS3 up to my 32" HDTV downstairs, which is a few years old and is low spec for a hdtv, I don't see nearly as much of this jaggedness or flickering.

I have played around with every setting, looking at guides on how to configure monitor settings the best, I've bought a new HDMI cable to see if it was that (as instructed by LG's customer service, although my understanding is that as it's a digital signal you either have perfect signal or none at all), but nothing has helped at all :(.

Any help or advice, or just anything, would be really appreciated as I'm sure most of you know far more than me on this stuff.

Thanks in advance.
