Monitor keeps entering power saving mode...

Hi all,

Logged in from my friend's PC.

He is running XP on an older PC using a Proview 17" monitor (my old, old monitor). It keeps shutting down every 20-25 minutes for no apparent reason.

I've checked his power options and changed them all to never shut anything down and hibernation is also off. His monitor display does not appear to have any power-saving options either.

Curious to see if anyone could shed any light on the matter.

Have you checked the power management features in the BIOS?

Yes, his BIOS has nothing which would seem to power down the system.

Funny thing is, the entire system hangs, and no key pressing or anything will bring it back to life. Even holding the power button won't shut down the PC. It has to be turned off at the plug.
