Monitor Making Whirring Noise

Ok, so I started up LA Noire and I hear a buzzing noise; So I think its coming from my pc, I lower volume and listen but its coming from my monitor. When looking at my monitor I noticed its fairly warm to touch. As soon as I Shut down LA Noire the noise stops. I am puzzled at what this could be.

Monitor = Viewsonic VX2260wm 22"

Does anyone have any ideas?

Just started up World of Tanks and same problem. Except Its much louder and tends to occur/become louder The more Graphics is being used? E.g on desktop there is no noise: In world of tanks garage menu theirs a little and when in a match there is a lot. This is worrying me it started about 20 minutes ago. Im scared to start up any games at all.

Sounds like Graphics/PSU coil whine and will happen under heavy GPU load. Common with certain components/combinations.

I'd believe that if the sound was coming from my computer but its from my Monitor, My computer is a fair amount of distance from the monitor so I can tell what its coming from.

Try changing the backlight/brightness to see if the sound changes (using the monitor buttons/OSD - not via gfx/control panel settings)

Fixed the problem: muted built in speakers using that menu fixed it.
