I'm looking at a new desk as the one I've currently got is an old Argos one that's already broken once, it's not big enough, and is bowing from the weight of my work ultrawide. I'm looking at buying a dual Vesa desk mount as I have the ultrawide and a secondary 24" (which is my personal monitor) that's currently sat on a cupboard next to me.

If a mount says it holds 2 screens up to 32" - does that mean they'll hold two 32" screens that are 16:9 as opposed to 21:9? my two monitors are:

LG Ultrawide, 30" 21:9 (2560x1080)
BenQ 24" 16:9 (1920x1080)

The second part of this is obviously the new desk will need to be able to support all of that weight in the centre point... What sort of thickness am I looking at? I'm looking at a desk like the Volz Corner Desk (apprehensive of posting a link to show you because rules...)

If I do need to account for the ultrawide being wider, would a mount like this be enough to hold my monitors: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/koli...tand-desk-clamp-pgw-ac-kol-007-mo-000-kk.html it supports up to 36" so should provide ample room.

Thanks for any feedback!

Hi Matt,

Looked at the Linmonn Adils or Lerberg from Ikea? These I can sit on and I'm 17 stone. I chopped the legs down to make them the perfect height. The tops are relatively think at 33mm. Hope I'm not breaking the rules by mentioning them. Apologies mod if I am.
I have looked at the Linmonn but it doesn't fit with the aesthetic of the office.......

I'm struggling to make an argument for anything but that corner desk (most likely poorly made, and I'm worried about sticking monitor arms on it!!)

I am considering a couple 18mm plywood sheets and joining them to make a 1.4" top, and buying 5 ADILS legs from Ikea...

If it says it takes two monitors up to 32" I would think that means two 32" monitors regardless of their aspect ratio. Which actual monitors do you have? You also need to look at the weight capacity as well as the monitor size. What weight capacity does the stand have? I think you should post the exact make/model of the stand here (assuming they are not an own brand from a competitor) and the exact monitors too. Don't post links, just post the make/models. The Volz doesn't look particularly sturdy.
I've got an LG 29WK500 and BenQ GL2460. The stand I'm looking at is the VonHaus dual arm desk mount (for up to 32"). SKU is 05-116. It seems to come up with the smaller mount first on Google every time.

I've also found a nice sheet of 28mm thick Pine timber board. Considering getting that, cutting it down to size and using the extra strip to make a corner, plus 7 ADILS legs to hold it up

I'm going to change my first answer. Having thought about it further I suspect they mean two 32" 16:9 monitors. The 21:9 will be wider so the stand may not fit two 21:9 monitors. However you only have one 21:9 and another smaller 24" 16:9 monitor. So it might still work. But it's probably 50/50. But the stand doesn't look too expensive so might be worth a try, especially if you buy from somewhere with a good returns policy. If it were me I would probably step up to a dual 34" stand or consider two separate single monitor stands simply for the future upgradability.
Not a bad idea on the two singles. I could even get one single and just sit my BenQ on the desk. It's a secondary that's not used very often - but I was thinking about having it mounted vertically instead. I'll have a look at singles and some slightly larger duals and see what the prices are.

Do you have any brand recommendation's? I've never looked at them before now so I'm coming at it from zero!
