I'm having my first properly decent PC build soon, heres the build:

• Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit SP1 Operating System
• Intel Core i5-2500K (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor @4.5GHz
• Corsair H80 Water-Cooling CPU Cooler
• MSI ATI Radeon HD 6950 Twin FrozR II OC 2048MB
• 8GB Mushkin Blackline DDR3 1600MHz
• 1TB Seagate Barracuda SATA III Hard Drive
• Crucial m4 64GB SSD
• MSI Z68A-GD55-G3 Intel Z68 (REV B3) PCI-Express Motherboard
• 750W Corsair TX750 V2 ATX2.3 SLI/Crossfire Compliant Power Supply
• Corsair Carbide 500R Black Midi Tower Chassis
• Sony SH-S222AB/BEBE DVD ReWriter

As you can see, I'm putting a decent amount of money into this, so I'm wanting to get a decent amount out of it with good peripherals. Obviously, I need to stay within the budget of around £1275. The computer build costs about £1090 so you have about £185 to play with. I would like (if possible a 1920*1080 monitor)

What do you recommend? Thanks,
James :)

Keyboard is VERY cheap... but is it any good? Have you used it?

i've used logitech in the past and never had any problems.

reason it was so cheap was to fit into the budget of £185, could balance it out with the mouse if needs be, as theres not really any give in the monitor price.

if you havent had the pc built yet could you change things around to allow more to the budget , if so go with the Microsoft SideWinder X4 (£34.98 inc VAT).

I've found the 22" version of this monitor for £100... sidewinder here we come. Thanks for your help. :)

Personally, rather than going from 24" to 22" monitor, I would drop the CPU cooler to the H60 or something to allow for a better keyboard.

I think think £83 is a hell of a lot considering the CPU itself is around £160....

Up to you though ofc. Nice build :)

I can't rate the Gigabyte M6990 mouse highly enough, bearing in mind I've previously used a Logitech G5 and also a Razer Deathadder.

Christ that's cheap. It's really as good or better than a Deathadder in your opinion? For £15 that's epic !

Better sensor than the G5 imo, I generally prefer optical to laser anyway. It also has better build quality than the Deathadder, though the G5 wins out in that regard by quite a distance, however imo it must be said that the M6990's quality is certainly not of a low or poor standard.

Amazing for £15. I just hope the OP reads my post tbh I think £83 for a CPU cooler = dropping from 24" to 22" monitor is just OTT. Unless he's melted loads of CPUs in the past and is just being ultra safe ;)

Thanks so much for the suggestions... I think I'll take a look at these and look some more. I have in fact melted no CPU's in the past. The pre-build just comes by default with the H80. :P Why is a monitor size difference of 2" such a big deal? I'm not trying to be rude or insolent, but surely that won't make too much difference... or will it?

P.S. Just watched a review of the R.A.T. 9... *Drool*

This includes the cost of shipping. Have you already counted that in the cost of your system? (Because if you order them all together, I believe you only pay one shipping fee).

Including your left-over budget that leaves you about £15 to upgrade the keyboard to a Sidewinder x4.
