Hey guys

Im hoping one of you will be able to help me with a problem im having.Ive recently built a new pc and am having some trouble.

System specs

Geforce GTX470
I7 940(cooler is a zelmen cant remember the type but its full copper with 2 rings and a centeral fan)
asus rampage extream 2
3GB black dragon DDR3 triple channel ram
1x750gb HDD
thermaltake elemental v nvidea edition

the problem is the monitor randomley cuts out with the "no signal input" message at random times (sometimes 30 mins sometimes after hours no matter the conditions ive been gaming for 20mins and had it happen and run the same game and played for 4 hrs with no problem)

The idle temps are
cpu 28-30oc
graphics 38-42oc

when gaming
cpu 30-35oc
graphics 50oc-70oc

Im at a loss ive tryed multipul PSU's had both the geforce 8800 BFG and the gtx 470 doing the same on the system.I origionally thought it was cpu temp as it was ideling around 40oc so bought the zelmen but it dosent seem to have fixed it :-(

any help suggestions would be grately appreciated
stef

EDIT:- forgot to mention sound will continue in the background and if i have axon up i can continue to talk to peoaple just with no image on the monitor

from waht I can tell, this all points to your monitor!!!

temps are normal.

you tried other PSU's

tried a 8800 card.

its either the monitor lead, the monitor connector plug, or the screen?

Thanks for that i will have a spare monitor to try tomorow (ive made some phonecalls) to be honest it was the last thing i exspected.Do monitors tend to go pritty frequantly?is there a rough lifespan for a monitor? mynes probabley 4 years old. its a 19" TFT monitor ill defo try a diffrent one tomorow im just curiouse as its the last thing i exspected it to be down to.

Is there any common causes of monitor failures that would cause a situation like this such as heat i assume its not going to be the pins in the heads as im guessing id just get no image whatsoever if it was a broken pin?

sorry monitors are just something ive never looked in to the tech side of and its intreuging me now lol

p.s. sorry about my spelling
