Monitor not displaying correct resolution

My 1440p monitor is displaying 2880x1620p and all text is blurry, even though windows 10 resolution saying it is set at 2560x1440p. when I start a windowed championship manager game, my screen goes black and comes back displaying the correct resolution. when I exit the game, the screen again goes black, and comes back at the incorrect resolution.

Any idea how to fix this?

If I change the resolution in windows 10 to 2880x1620 the monitor looks like it's displaying the correct 1440p resolution. but when I check my monitor information it says 2880x1620.

It's like the resolutions have been mixed up or something.


Think I've fixed it. I changed the icon in properties, and changed it back again. now it no longer switches resolution when I close the game.

Are you on Nvidia, if so look in NVCP and windows size/position and post a screen of it here.
