Monitor not turning on after static shock

There was some cracking noise as i powered on my PC and the monitor turned off and wont turn on. Seems to have been damaged by static. Is this fixable?

Is it completely dead? No power lights or anything? Or just signal? I don't think 'static' would do that... sounds like something more serious.

there's no backlight or anything

If no power light either, and you can see no lights inside the monitor, or even any electrical noise, I'd perhaps try the fuse on the plug.

Are you sure the power cord hadn't wiggled loose? These will arc and audibly crackle if not all the way in.
