Just testing an Acer XG270HU monitor on my PC, which is 1440p 144Hz.

Connected using the supplied DVI Dual Link cable, and seemed to be okay displaying the picture, but is only at 60Hz.

Upon checking, Windows seems to only recognise it as "Generic PnP Monitor" under Device Manager- Monitors.

But if I go under Control Panel- Display- Screen Resolution, it does show it as "1. XG270HU".

If I try to update the driver in Device Manager, trying to do it Automatically just says "Windows has already installed the best driver", and if I try to Browse to the driver I downloaded from the Acer Support site, it won't work saying "The hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file.".

The Acer driver site only has options up to Windows 8.1 64bit, so could it be that?

What should I do? I want to use my monitor at a higher refresh than 60.

Any help much appreciated, thank.

Under CCC-My Digital Flat-Panels- Properties, it's reporting the 'Maximum reported refresh rate as 75Hz' ? It recognises it as a XG270HU though.

What is going on??

Use the display port cable. It should work then. Get it at work with low quality VGA/DVI Cables. Changing to a display port cable always fixes it.
