Just testing an Acer XG270HU monitor on my PC, which is 1440p 144Hz.

Connected using the supplied DVI Dual Link cable, and seemed to be okay displaying the picture, but is only at 60Hz.

Upon checking, Windows seems to only recognise it as "Generic PnP Monitor" under Device Manager- Monitors.

But if I go under Control Panel- Display- Screen Resolution, it does show it as "1. XG270HU".

If I try to update the driver in Device Manager, trying to do it Automatically just says "Windows has already installed the best driver", and if I try to Browse to the driver I downloaded from the Acer Support site, it won't work saying "The hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file.".

The Acer driver site only has options up to Windows 8.1 64bit, so could it be that?

What should I do? I want to use my monitor at a higher refresh than 60.

Any help much appreciated, thank.

What graphics card have you got ? , you can set the refresh usually in the Nvidia/ catalyst control panel dependent on what gpu you have.

It HAS to use a DisplayPort cable (one in the box)
It's the only connection that has enough bandwidth to run at 144MHz at it's native resolution apparently.

Dual Link DVI will go up to 1920x1080 120Hz I think but no more. I got a BenQ XL2730Z and could only get windows to recognise it up to 120Hz until I put the DP cable in. Now I get 2560x1440P @ 144Hz no problem.
