Sorry for yet another what should I buy thread but I've been thinking about this and haven't gotten closer to an answer, I'm currently using an NEC 24WMGX3. I spend roughly half my time doing work (mostly coding but a lot of graphic work too) and the other half gaming but I'm unsure of what would be the best upgrade path.

My first thoughts were for a 2560x1440 monitor and go for accuracy but I think this will cause more problems for the gaming side of things so now I'm torn between just getting a gaming monitor or going for 2 screens to suit both tasks. I'm probably obsessing over this too much as it's not like this NEC is the finest monitor ever made but I've not been able to live with screens that suffer from bad back light bleed in the past and I doubt that's changed now so I'm a little leery of some of the TN gaming monitors.

So what do you think would be the best solution, should I just get a single gaming monitor (Benq XL2420T or Asus VG278HE seem like strong choices) or should I go for 2 monitors (gaming monitor as main, DGM IPS-2701WPH or Hazro HZ27WC, Dell U2711 as secondary).

For 2560x1440 monitors can you drive them at that resolution from 1 DVI output? I'm using a POV GTX 570 but having never used a monitor that requires it before I don't know.

Dual link DVI on the graphics card will run 2560x1440 as long as you use the correct dual link DVI cable.

The GTX 570 has dual link DVI (usually 2 of them).
