Hi all!
I've recently upgraded my system and gone for an RX580. My employer runs a scheme with a certain high street electronics supplier where I can get my hands on tech hardware at a discount and on finance. This got me looking at monitors and thinking about upgrading from my current AOC I2769VM 27" IPS monitor.
At first I was thinking of going for a decent 1440p 32" with Freesync and high refresh rate, but now after doing a bit of research it looks like my 580 could struggle to keep up with the monitor's capabilities, which got me pondering the following options;
Should I go for the futureproof option where I opt for the best monitor I can get (2k/4k/Ultra wide, etc) and just run it at 1080p/1440p so that I have the quality available for a potential future GPU upgrade?
Or go for a high quality but lower end monitor, say 144Hz 1080P?
Basically, will there be any negative effects of running a high end monitor at less than native settings? For instance 2K but at 1080p?
My criteria are: Freesync, over 27", preferably VA or IPS panel and preferably curved.
So far I have my eye on the following options:
BENQ EX3203R
BENQ EW3270U
MSI Optix AG32C
ACER ED323QURwidpx
ASUS XG32VQ
Opinions?
Thanks for any input!
