I always thought that IPS had the best image quality but reading some posts on another forum it doesnt look the case

Does this sound correct?

Ah VA panels can have considerable ghosting so be sure to reseach well on the model you are getting. And IPS is no god, they are actually pretty bad if you sit very close to the monitor.

Response time wise TN >> IPS >>>>> VA

Image quality wsie VA >>>>> IPS >>>> TN

Viewing angle wise IPS >>>> VA >>>>>>>>>>>>>> TN

IPS has the best balance of image quality and response time but it's not necessarily superior to VA, it all depends on your preferences.

All sub $1000 LCD monitors are ultimatelly a piece of trash compared to a plasma or LED HDTV.

In quich case I might go with a VA panel that doesnt have horrible anti-glare. Something like a Benq EW2730 maybe?

Based on your first post you should just get yourself a TV.

It looks like we're all wasting our time and money with these sub $1,000 monitors

I had a Samsung 32" tv as a monitor. It was horrible to use. Bad colours and terrible ghosting

The Eizo SX3031W sounds like a fantastic screen. Shame its £1800!

Think i'm going to look for a 27" VA panel. IPS doesnt sound all that
