Monitor/Pc cutting out

Hello,

I have an issue that has only happened within the past couple of days, basically something cuts out and my monitor shows no signal so its like there's no wire connected, i have to then turn the PC on and off again and it will work fine for a little while but then will do the same thing again. has anyone got any ideas of what this is? i connect it to my monitor using a VGA cable.

Have you tried a different cable?
What are your PC specs?

yeah ive tried running through hdmi cable and a different vga cable

8gb ram
gtx 560ti
i7-2600 cpu
gigabyte z68ap-d3

What are your system temperatures likes and are you overclocked?

not sure on temperatures, it never used to do this and its not overclocked

Try checking with Realtemp or coretemp and see what it comes back with.

temp was hovering around 35 degrees

is it something in the bios, try turning on the intel apu or off and see if the monitor works if you plug the HDMI directly into the motherboard.

also it could just be the monitor and the drivers of the gpu or something if the intel apu works then update the monitor drivers to the latest version.

Have you made sure your HDD isn't going into sleep in power options menu (control panel)?
