monitor power adapter

where can i get a monitor power adapter for my bothers system , it keeps overheating and cutting out .

details taken from the body of the adapter below
model number is k-1205
input 100-240 vac 60/50hz
1.5a output dc 12v 4.2a

will any 12v adapter work a tft monitor ?

what make of screen is it? tried contacting the manufacturer of the monitor for a replacement?
