Monitor problem?

Hi,
My mum sent me some photos of an intermittent problem on her monitor display where the colours are wrongly displayed. It seems to happen most often when the PC is first used. After about 30mins the the problem seems to fade away. Turning the monitor off and on again doesn't make it disappear.

Do you think this could be the monitor or a problem with the graphics card?

She has an old Gefore 4 MX card and I did wonder if the card is dying.

is it the pc has been set to 16bit colour as it looks like that when i seen it before

edit the : the large photo loaded so maybe not. not sure what it is sox

Thanks, yes that was my first thought too about the 16bit colour. However, the problem goes away after 30 mins or so of the system being on. I'll try replacing the monitor with one of mine for a few days before ordering a new one, to make sure its that.
