Hi all,

The missus purchased a cheap CRT monitor about 3 years ago.

It is a Hyundai Q770. The first one had a bad line right across the screen, the replacement was a little better so we kept it. A year and ahalf ago it stopped working and has been sitting in the spare room until now.

I have plugged it all in, connected it to my PC.

When it was connected it buzzed, the power light goes green, then amber then off. I have to press the button again twice for it to power up but it just keeps repeating the process.

Anyone any idea what is wrong? Easily repairable? Anything I could salvage out of a really old monitor in order to fix it?

Unless you know what to look for and what you're doing you can get a nasty zap from a monitor (yep even unplugged lol)

Around 3yrs ago a crt of mine had very similar problem, I took it to a now closed tv repair shop and they said £75 quid to repair, I ended up trading my one in for £75 off a new one

Not an answer but these days it's more than likely easier buying a new crt than it is getting a decent price for a repair

Maybe someone more crt-minded will post for you
