Monitor problem

Hi so i turned on my computer this morning started using it then after about 30 minutes the screen went black every thing in the background was still running fine i took the VGA cable out and plugged it back in the screen came back as normal but then after 5 seconds it goes black again it does this every time i take the VGA out and put it back in

I have tried two cables this happened with both so its not the cable
I have tried two computer's same problem so its not the computer
I am now using my TV monitor to type this

The monitor is about 6 years old now and iv never had this problem before
its a 19" Cibox
Model number: LW1922C

Is there any reason this could happen? If so is there a fix? Or is it time i got a new monitor?

The back light is probably knackered. same as when those halogen ccfl tube lights go(in kitchen?)

So basically new monitor?

If that's the case then yes, you would require a new monitor.
