Behind you... Naked!
Im unsure about this, but one of my monitors is run off an external power supply

It requires 19v @ 1.5A

Now, its going down rapidly and after a few minutes use the screen gets darker and darker until eventually it goes off and clicks...

Now... Can I use a Generic Laptop charger instead?

I have one you see that can switch to 19v ( as many laptops do use ) and its 3amps so plenty there.

But doesnt a charger deliver the power differently to how a Power supply would?

Any info to help would be great cos its a shame because even though the screen is so old its display is hyroglyphs, its a great crisp picture.

I cannot tell you the make / model of the scren unfortunately as the sticker has been removed and the logo has worn off, but all I can tell you is that its a 19" LCD

I am using a generic multi power adaptor that I used on my HP laptop,

My daughter now uses it to power her Videoseven monitor with no problems so go for it,

Granted I am yes, but then a new PSU would cost me... What £20?

Id rather pay out £20 and get a new PSU than fry the screen... A replacement screen would cost me more than a replacement PSU.

So, I do have a screen to lose in a kind of way but yes, I see what you mean!

I would have thought it would have been OK, but then, I do not want to be responsible for frying it . . . .
Since you would have to buy the adapter, can you not get one from the catalogue high street store and try it out?
