Hopefully you guys can help influence my decision:
I'll soon be in the market for a new monitor. I currently have a Dell u2312hm and due to work commitments I'll need a display array that will offer me greater screen real-estate than I currently have, even greater than a single 2560x1440 panel if I'm honest. It will be for mild video editing and running multiple VMs persistently.
It will be mostly for work but I do game on RPGs, FPS (not online) and occasional RTS. I have a 780ti that I don't wish to trade/upgrade.
I don't wish to spend more than a net outlay of £350 so I have a few options:
1) Sell u2312hm (doubt I'll get more than 50/60 quid tbh), buy a single 21:9. I'd prefer a B grade 3440x1440 panel (I've seen AOC's recently listed on clearance for £359).
2) Keep u2312hm, run in portrait. Buy single 27" 2560x1440. I think G-Sync is out of the question for the time being with my budget.
3) Keep u2312hm, buy 2x 1080p monitors and game in nVidia Surround
I'm leaning towards option 1 but wanted other forum members with similar requirements to state their opinions. Cheers
