Hi OcUK,

Looking for your wise advice on a new monitor, my time has come to ditch the 60hz monitor's and actually take advantage of the MSI 970 gpu I'm using.

I'm not fussed about above 1920x1080 however I would like a 120/144hz monitor.

I do feel I've come to an age now when looking for a new monitor is like being in a maze of just having no clue what is actually worth the money.

I'll try my best to point out exactly what it is I'll be wanting in a new monitor,

Crisp, clear and colourful bright display
120 or 144hz to take full advantage of my gpu
22inch or higher in size
1920x1080 or higher, not as high as 4K (dont see fuss over it)
Not concerned with 3D as I'll never buy a headset for it.

I'll only be looking for a single monitor dedicated to gaming, and price range is at most £350.

A big thank you to all who help, I'm always grateful I have you all to depend on :)

Currently my PC setup is;

2x DVI Monitors at 1920x1080 - HP S2231A and Acer H223HQ(brightness failing)
MSI GTX 970 (broken HDMI port due to lightning storm)
Intel i5-3570k 3.40ghz at 4.2ghz
16gb ram of something
Windows 10 Pro x64
2x 250gb SSD (CT250BX100SSD1)
1x 128gb SSD (OCZ-AGILITY3)
1x 2tb SATA (WD20 03FZEX-00Z4SA0)

Don't worry, it should come back soon i guess. It's a great monitor which i can safely recommend as I own it myself and faced the same choice. It has great colours, g-sync, 144HZ and it's easy to drive with a single 970. And you won't have problems with the quality like Acer or Asus have with those "higher-end" 1440p monitors. So this should be a great gaming and general monitor until you decide to change it to something better if you need in several years later.

Would there be any issues having a 2nd monitor connected by DVI on the same gpu? Like would it prevent G-Sync or force it to go to 60hz?

Nope, it will work as it should, so you won't have any problem connecting a second display. Which is why I'm definitely keeping it as a secondary monitor when time will come in the upcoming years.

Great! Was worried for a minute that having a 2nd connected would mess up the 144hz on one, and 60hz on another. But with a game only being on one it's good to know nothing silly like that would happen.

Thanks again Raendor, Just the impatience now of it coming into stock.
