Monitor recommendation

I'm currently on a Samsung SyncMaster 2443BW, which is a 24" monitor that I've had for many years. Having built a new gaming PC recently, I feel like getting a better higher resolution monitor.

I think 27" is a good size. I'm worried going for a higher resolution (i.e. QHD), will need a more powerful GPU, especially for more demanding games.

My research so far has narrowed it down to a Dell S2716DG, Asus Swift PC279Q, or Acer Predator XB271HU.

The Asus and Acer ones look good, but I am worried about the QC issues I have been reading about a lot. I've never experienced an IPS panel, so I don't know what I'd be missing.

The Dell one is a TN panel, but I think I've always used TN panels so I don't know what I'm missing yet. It is cheaper and less likely to have QC issues. However I would be worried that I may notice colour changes on the screen due to the increased size of the screen and the limited viewing angle of TN panels. Is this actually something I need to worry about when looking head on?

Which monitor would you recommend?

My budget is up to around £800. I have a i7-6700k CPU and nvidia 1070 card.

This one is a quiet sub-forum, so feel free to discard my musings!

Your budget covers all aspects. If you're going gaming it comes down to whether you have a Nvidia or AMD GPU, and intend to keep for the long term - this distinguishes between Gysnc and Free sync, respectively.

I have to agree that the change in experience with that [Gysnc] aspect is wow.

Then you have resolution. Again linked to your GPU.
