Monitor recommendation

Hi guys, I’m a bit of a noob on tech specs and all but could someone recommend a good monitor to buy? I currently have a 2017 MacBook Pro which I would like to use a monitor with and I also am an Xbox gamer so would like to be able to switch between the two. I’m thinking of 34” ultra wide, I’m aware of the black bars as the 21:9 isn’t compatible with Xbox but that doesn’t bother me too much. All suggestions welcome and budget of about £500-700 Thanks

If main usage is work and general usage, you're better of going for monitor with proper image height as priority.
What marketing means saying ultra wide screen is more desk space hogging for very little image height and you need to be really close to get decent vertical coverage of stereo vision field of view.
And that budget would get 32" 3840x2160
