Hi I have been using my HTPC for a few years now, but have decided to get an old pc back up running to try Linux, so looking for some help picking a monitor roughly 27” or bigger if recommend, the reason for asking is I don’t want to buy now and regret not spending a bit better or find I want to upgrade in a few months time, so general pc work on it and maybe some simple games but no hard core gaming, so any help appreciated?
Thanks

Are you looking for 1920x1080, or higher? 4k? ultra wide? refresh rate?
Whats your budget?
There will always be better released just after you buy. I'm waiting for large high res ones with high refresh rates.
I like this one:

38" 3840 x 1600 75Hz

And this one:

34" 3440x1440 100Hz

Samsung also do a 49" monitor, but its vertical res is too low - its just the same as 2 HD monitors side by side.

Ideally I'd be looking for something thats a large ultra wide version of a 4k monitor at 150Hz +, but they just don't exist yet.
I'd also want it to not be trying to be too bright. I need to be able to look at it 10+ hours a day (working then gaming) without it doing my eyes in.
