Hi all.

I'm looking for recommendations on what monitor to get to replace my faulty Samsung G75 27".

I'm struggling to find a monitor that ticks all the right boxes, while actually being available. (aw3423dw would be nice but it's saying 12th of October for delivery)

Budget is £1500
I'm looking for:
good contrast ratio
Proper HDR I'd say 600 nit as a minimum.
G-sync compatibility
At least as good PPI as my old G75
At least 144hz refresh rate and 1ms response
I'm not in either camp as far as ultrawide or not. Both would be fine as I have plenty of desk space.

I use it for gaming mostly but occasionally productivity.

Preferably not Samsung given their appalling customer service and willingness to ignore a known fault.

I have an rtx 3090FE so graphics horsepower shouldn't be an issue

Any suggestions?

The Alienware QD-OLED is worth waiting for TBH, but if you really don't want to, then the AW3821DW is very nice and ticks all your boxes (or the LG equivalent)
It's more that I'd be using a 60hz 1080p monitor until then and that kind of wastes having the 3090 during that time. I had considered buying something as a stopgap though.

If you're satisfied with average 1440 pixel vertical resolution, then self emissive pixels of QD-OLED would certainly have lot to offer.
(especially for dimmer room illumination)
Otherwise 4K would be high end.
Models with modern response times FALD panel of AU Optronics, like Acer X32 FP, have just been delayed over summer.
4K would obviously be the ideal but the price on that 32uqx is just too steep for me. Any idea of how much they've been delayed?

Shame about Samsung, the new 4k/240Hz MiniLED would be a good choice :(

I'm currently using the Giga FI32Q-X and find it v v good at its new pricing (£520), but may not fit your PPI requirements.

The MSI QD-OLED 34" is due soon I think? It's been announced about a week ago.

Yeah I was really happy with the spec and output of the G75 apart from the drop outs etc. The levels I had to go to just to get my money back as they refused to repair it, really put me off their products. I've also had previous with them for this stuff with both of my previous TV's UE55JU7000 and currently on my third Q95 65" after they developed strobing backlights and faulty wi-fi receivers.

Might need to do some more digging about that screen. Thanks!
