can someone confirm if im right or wrong about this......

if using a 120hertz monitor for gaming (not in 3d) the refresh rate means i get up to 120fps max even with vsync on i will see no tearing as the monitor will support up to 120fps??

and..

if using a 120hertz monitor for 3d gaming and having vsync on, this will mean i can get 60fps max (as its 60 frames per eye)

can someone tell me if im right about this. i always game with vsync on as i hate the tearing effect.

many thanks.

yes ul get fps of 120 with vsync on, with vsync off ul get as much fps as your rig/game allows. the monitor isnt limited to 120fps
not sure about ur second question

Yes you will get 120 frames per second in normal mode with vsync on (providing of course your machine has enough oomph to display 120 FPS).With vsync off you will get more than 120,but of course rather like 60hz monitors you dont "see" the extra fps you just get tearing from not being sync`ed with refresh.

2nd question is yes again, you wil get 60fps/hz per eye in effect. The shuttering effect of the glasses filters every alternate frame so to speak.Although be aware
you dont have to maintain 120 fps to see the 3d you just have to have 120 Hertz.
