Hey all,

Ive been experiencing a little bit of flickering on my monitor lately in games, and sometimes just on certain websites.

So last night i went to check my refresh rate to see if it was at 60hz if so i could then rule that out, but i checked it and it was a 59hz so i changed it back to 60hz...

After that i was experiencing flickering again... =/ checked it again and it was back at 59hz, basically it being forced back to 59hz, i have tried changing it in Nvidia Control Panel and still it forces it back to 59hz... I really don't know how to resolve this...

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance...

Try updating your graphics drivers. Maybe your monitor drivers if it has any.

If none of them work, try 60hz as forced refresh rate it in nVidia's control panel.

I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers and Monitors drivers, however i will go and try the forced refresh rate in Nvidias Control panel...

Thanks for the input =)

EDIT: I can not seem to find the option to force the refresh rate, only to change it... and obviously if i do that it gets forced back to 59hz =/

I don't have a nVidia card anymore, but i remember with my 7800gt that i could force/override the refresh rate using NvTweak or something.

There were also some applications that could do that for you.

The 59Hz mode shouldn't make it flicker.

It is really ~59.94Hz, and is there to be compatible with the NTSC standard by framdoubling. (which, according to the standard, 29.97Hz interlaced to 59.94Hz). Which again makes some video content judder-free.

Its more likely some z-buffer or v-sync option that's not correct as well, 59Hz mode should be virtually indistinguishable from 60Hz apart from watching NTCS video.

Thanks for the comments...

Well i deffently notice flickering, even on the OcUK site... and im sure via past experiance that at 60hz it stops the flickering...

The V-Sync option in my Nvidia Control panel varys on the application setting so im guessing that is not likely to be the cause, i have not check up about my Z-Buffer settings, i will do once i get home...
