Hi,

I have an HTC One X. The screen on it is unbelievable. I foolishly purchased a Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM, thinking because it's IPS it would come close.

Far from it. It doesn't come anywhere near. I've sent it back.

First off, I realise that I'm not going to get anything like the high level DPI on a smartphone, one of the flagship models, iPhone, HTC One X, SIII, Nokia Lumia 920. (Which, I think a great shame).

However, I am wondering exactly what brand and what model of monitor would come close to the colour saturation and viewing angles that these smartphone screens have.

Obviously I'm willing to spend double on what I did on the Dell. As now I know what is available at that price range, I need to spend more.

If I have to pay double again, It's going to have to be a real special treat. So please advice wisely guys. I'm trusting you.

Don't the new smart phones have OLED screens. OLED for monitors isn't available yet.

IPS is prolly the best you can get for colour and viewing angles.

I believe the only model out of the ones mentioned that have OLED is the SIII.

The rest use IPS panels.

Try a glossy IPS such as the DGM IPS-2701WPH although its contrast and black levels aren't all that great according to the tftcentral.co.uk review. The Hazro HZ27WC might be a better choice.

Thanks for the heads up on those two. I shall investigate further. But yes, if they can produce the same colour saturation and viewing angles, that would be exactly what I'm looking for.

Price is well within range as well.
