monitor screen connection help

hi

ive just got a acer x3812 pc tower , now im having trouble working out the best way to connect it to my samsung 205bw monitor which has 2 available connections, a dvi-d and d-sub which i think is VGA.

the tower has a vga and also a hdmi.

what should i do , perhaps hdmi to dvi or vga to dvi or perhaps just vga to vga?

please help

i did have a dvi-hdmi cable floating around somewhere , would this work then even though my monitor is not hd ?

well after doing a bit of hunting i cant seem to find my dvi-hdmi cable , and dont really want to have to buy another cable if i want see a lot of difference.

would vga from the tower to dvi on the monitor be ok , thats what im using now on my old pc and it seems ok? , or would vga to vga be ok as well
