Monitor set to 75hz but fps still capped at 60?

So I've set my refresh rate to 75hz but it seems that games are still being capped to 60fps with vsync enabled. Why is this?

Even in the heaven benchmark with vsync it's stuck at 60fps, That website reports the correct 75hz, thanks. any other ideas?

I've sussed it lol, it will only run a game with 75hz if it's ran at the native resolution, if ran below it reverts back to 60hz.

Hi, you can make a custom resolution which l have done 3620x2036@75Hz via Nvidia Control Panel>Change Resolution> Create Custom Resolution with DSR-Off, it will test the new resolution as well to see if it will work.

Have done this for Dirt Rally, you must alter the Resolution setting in the Dirt Rally CFG[config file with notepad ++] to 75> <refreshRate rate="75" />, for this to work.

Once you have selected the new resolution when you start Dirt go to Graphics>Video Mode and select 3620x2036@75H, done.

Vsync>Off

You have to create a custom resolution with the desired, and working, hz for each resolution you want 75hz to work with. So its not enough to do a 1920x1080 option with 75hz if you also want 4k at 75hz or 1440p at 75hz
