what saves the settings of your monitor when it's turned off? , running a dual display and one monitor keeps re setting it's self .. so i have to position the screen again most times.Anyone know why and how?

what monitor ,gpu etc have you got?

Nvidia Geforce 6200 AGP & the screen which does this is a maxdata belinea 10 60 75 (19" CRT)

is that the primary or secondary display, if secondary switch it to the primary display adn see if the problem continues when you turn that monitor off. if no turn off your secondary display and see if that has the same problem, if not the fault most likely lies in the monitor

its primary , it works fine on single display , but the reason i have it anyway is the acer AL1916 is too dark , and ive tried everything to make it as bright as the belinea but nothing seems to work , and i cant watch films or anything properly because i cant see most of it because its too dark , the only time it is bright enough is for a few seconds when i press the auto screen correction button
