I've currently running an Alienware AW3418DW which I really like. I purchased it in 2017 and it was perfect for my home gaming setup, it was also 50% off through a works deal (handy). Nice real estate, good for some light home office work and enjoyable to play games on.

Since then, I've setup my own business and work solely from home. I also play more games in my spare time.

But, I've found recently that I'd like to get a second screen. My initial thought was to add another Alienware AW3420DW to sit along side as aesthetically it's very similar, but concerns are is it value for money against other screens out there and is having 2 x 34's going to be just too much screen. (I have the physical space for them so no issues there).

What are peoples thoughts? Has anyone or does anyone run 2 x 34" ultrawide together?

Would you suggest going with a 27" ish screen as a secondary instead?

If you'd suggest going with 2 x 34" ultrawides, is there a specific screen people would recommend over the AW model?

Final points from me, my current graphics card is a Asus ROG 1080Ti. I'm looking to change it, but missed the 3090FE deal yesterday as MSRP (from another retailer so I won't link them) and tbh, the current pricing for cards is putting me off spending significantly over the odds.

I also am not interested in going to an even wider ultrawide instead of going dual monitor, purely as with some games, I like to have a second screen showing content for me instead of trying to run windowed on my main screen.

Cheers in advance :)

If you bought another curved 34" monitor, how would you put them together? Would you have the join directly infront of you? That seems to be the way they go together best, but it's not something I would like.

That's a good point that I'd not really considered. I guess, one would remain the primary focus point, the second being off the left/right essentially? But yes, I'd want them relatively close together.

Re size, I would go 34" if you have room. If you don't use all that screen real estate, it doesn't matter, but it's nice to have it when you need it. The question would be whether it's better to go curved or flat on the second monitor. If you don't mind the join down the middle then curved to match, but if you want one monitor offset, I would be considering flat.
