Hello

I decided i would try out this whole dual monitor setup with a spare one i have last night and seem to be having a few problems getting it to work correctly.

The problem i am having is that the second monitor that i want to add is staying in powersave/sleep mode when i boot the PC up, the monitor is also not detected in CCC/Device manager even when i click the "detect display" / Scan for new Hardware changes.

The second monitor i am trying to add works fine when i boot the PC up with that as the primary but then the same thing happens to the other one.

I have made sure that the power save options under windows is on "never" and i also read about changing the power management under BIOS to POS1 instead of 3 (i am at work atm i cant remember the tag for it might be wrong)

The main monitor i am using at the moment is 1080p however the second one does not go that high it goes to 1600x1200 if maybe that is the issue ? I have tried lowering the primary monitors resolution to see if it made any difference but it did to change things.

Both of the monitors are connected to my primary (top) graphics card, i have tried to run the second monitor on the second card but it still gives the same result, both monitors connect to the graphics card using a VGA cable which has an addapter on the end so it connects to the graphics card.

My hardware setup is as follows:

Intel I7 920
6GB Ram
2x 6950 in Crossfire
750W PSU

If it cant be made to work its no major biggy but i wouldnt mind trying it out if something can be done to get them to work.

Thanks

Think i found the issue.

Cant use 2 DVI-VGA adapters at the same time, to make it work you need to use the primary on a DVI-VGA CABLE and the second on the DVI-VGA ADAPTER, something about the primary monitor being on the dvi-vga adapter turning off the second adapter port on the card.

Will try when i get home bit of luck this works :D
