Hello there, i'm currently using an old 16" screen @ 1024x768. How do i work out what size screen @ 1920x1080 would give me similar or slighly larger font/icon size? Ta.

what you mean? with a 1920x1080 you can scale down the res to any res you like, lower res usually means bigger icon/font size, plus you can have large font in windows

thanks v.muchly for the replys

Wazza - Want to get me moneys worth so would like to use at highest res ie 1920x1080 but avoid tiny icons and text.

So based on yr calc Tomsk - If im gettin this :o - smaller than 27.5” and default size desktop icons are going to be smaller than my current set up. Above 27.5” and icons will be larger?

Well I have an LG e2260 22" monitor and its fine, fonts Arnt to small and I had 15" monitor previously,I would go for there newer ips 22" panels as they are vesa mountable if needed, has hdmi/dvi/vga ports on both models

Millions of people are using 1920x1080 on 23/24" monitors without any problems. They may be smaller than with your current monitor but they will be sharper as well.

Going with Tomsk number the closest you're going to get a with a monitor is 27". They don't make monitors bigger than that with a 1920x1080 resolution.. and that's already getting too 'pixelated' for some (including me). Unless you have bad sight or are sitting further away than 3ft you should be fine with anything between 22 and 27".

why not this one? led are better and use less juice

LG IPS225V

oh and ips panels are much better than tn panels
