Monitor sleeping/DVI problem ?

Hi guys, just finished my new build and have a Radeon HD 6570 outputting duplicate outputs to my plasma (HDMI) and monitor (DVI). The HDMI works flawlessly but the DVI is somewhat temperamental. I used the same cable + monitor on my old rig and I got intermittent problems with the monitor not turning on (turns on but goes into DVI sleep mode) when I turn the PC on. However, whether it’s because I’ve been messing around a lot with display settings, I’m getting this problem more often. One classic example is if I put the PC into sleep mode and try and wake it up, it wakes up but my monitor doesn’t come on (I have to use my plasma as a display to reboot).

Has anyone come across this sort of problem before? Obviously first things first, I will replace my DVI cable for a new one. Another thing to note is that SOMETIMES in Windows Media Center, although the plasma picture is perfect, the duplicated image on my monitor flickers randomly and doesn’t display properly. This only happens in Windows Media Center though and not ALL the time.

Thanks a lot. I hope I described the problem clear enough. :)

If this happened on your old PC as well then perhaps it's the monitor.

It may be happening more often because the fault is getting worse.
