Monitor Speakers Electrical Interference?

Hi, so I purchased a pair of M-Audio BX5's and have them hooked up to my soundcard, (Soundblaster Z), via an XLR Y cable into a single 3.5mm jack input.

Im loving the sound but I am getting interference, more on one speaker than the other. It sounds electrical/white noise which can rise when playing games or with any intensive task on the pc. It's just there and I can't un-hear so to speak.

Example: On the Alien Isolation main menu it went haywire, sounded horrible. I muted the volume via the keyboard volume control and the sound was still there.

I've swapped the xlr cables and power connectors around and it's still exactly the same. The interference rises with the volume control on the back of each speaker.
The sound disappears when the speakers are unplugged from the pc, currently into my phone with no interference what so ever.

Any ideas?

Cheers
