Sorry, couldn't think of a descriptive title.

Basically for next uni year Iam thinking about getting a 2nd monitor for tv/dvd watching.
is it possible to set up a 2nd lot of speakers to only play the sound that happens in that monitor?
So like, the tv would only play through those speakers, if I get a problem beep thingy (for what ever reason) it would only play through those speakers, leaving my main speakers free for the main monitor.

I know i could just move my speakers but...yeah.....sssh!

I don't believe you can, as it would mean adding in a second soundcard to your pc then making your dvd/tv playing software use that soundcard, instead of the default. Most software doesn't have the ability to set a different soundcard either.

You can assign programs to different audio outputs in vista. On mine I have a Realtek HD Audio and I can assign programs to the optical out or the analogue out. If you have speakers that support optical out then you could, though I've never tried, just have the TV on one set of speakers.

This is more an Audio question and you'd get more luck out of posting in the audio (soundcard) forums :)
