So the overwhelming majority of monitors nowadays have these type of dual-armed stands

These are fine if you have one monitor but if you want a triple monitor setup for say sim racing where the side monitors will be angled these types of stands take up an annoying amount of desk space

You also get stands like this below which are much more suited to my needs and take up less space, however they seem to be going out of fashion and its a lot harder to find suitable monitors with these stands

Now I know I could just get one of those triple monitor desk stands but they tend to be pretty useless for sim racing where you need to position the monitors as close to the wheel as possible, they simply aren't flexible enough with their positioning.

My question is, is there some kind of product (besides VESA mounts) that allow you to change the type of stand a monitor comes with, for example, I could remove the wide-armed stands and replace them with some rectangular-based stands i purchased from somewhere else.

Hope i've explained that well enough, bit of a random question I know... I'm just getting annoyed at nearly all the monitors im interested in having these dual-armed stands which take up too much space.

You can still buy those sort of stands (elsewhere as OcUK don't stock that type), but they are all listed as VESA monitor stands.

All but the cheapest monitors, should still have VESA mounting holes, regardless of the stand they ship with.

Alternatively, it might be worth looking at monitor arms - something like Ergotron LX - expensive, but they can be positioned easily - e.g. pulled forwards for gaming, and then returned backwards the rest of the time.
