Monitor Standby mode

Hi all is it safe to turn my monitors to standby mode then turn them off at the mains so when I switch the plug back on there always on hope this makes sence

TBH I can't see why not. The PSU is the last line of defence from the mains and I would assume this is unaffected whether it's on standby or not.

I'm more than prepared to accept that I'm wrong on this however if someone else knows better...
