monitor states no input-need help pls

i bought a new system all in seperate components, now the components are put together the monitor states no input when i turn it on.

here's the parts i bought:-

ASRock Z87M EXTREME4 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard

Intel Core i7-4790 3.60GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail

Kingston HyperX Beast 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX24C11T3K2/8X)

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST2000DM001) HDD

Aerocool Qs-200 Advance Micro-ATX Case - Black

I used my previous power supply Cooler Master GX 650W aswell as my dvd writer.

i can't understand what the issue is,
i first plugged my monitor in and connected to the machine and when i turn my machine on the motherboard powers up, the fans turn on and the monitor then displays the message no video input and the monitor goes to sleep.

I then tried inserting my old gcard (only a low profile nvidea) which definately works in my other machine, i connected that to the monitor and still the same thing happens,
the power turns on, the fans spin and the same message comes up on screen as before my monitor then goes back to sleep.

Is there compatabuility issues with the components i have bought?

As i built the machine myself OC support states i must get it diagnosed by a specialist elsewhere.

I cannot fathom where the issue lies at all, i even tried using some different RAM which is only 1600MHz thinkin it may need xmp enabling in bios before hand but alas still the same thing happens.

Is it possible the cpu is dead? would my machine still turn on if the cpu was dead?
i am unsure how the machine would behave.

Please help!

srry i missed adding the motherboard in the parts i bought, i ammended the 1st post to include the mobo i got. it's an ASRock Z87M EXTREME4 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard

unfortunately the chasis or mobo did not come with any little speaker of any kind, it's the 1st time i bought a micro mobo, bought it on behalf of building a machine for my father. (doubt i'll ever buy a micro mobo again, i'm only used to standard atx mobo's)
Can't hear any beeps of any sort and as for error codes... i'd welcome them with open arms but the monitor does nothing at all apart from give a simple message saying "no video input" before going to sleep, the machine however will stay powered with fans spinning etc

brand spankin new parts apart from the psu/dvd writer (the gcard was only been used thinkin the bios needed setting to activate the onboard graphics, the machine will be utilising the onboard graphics when it's working)

i'm enclined to agree there that it's faulty mobo but i'm unaware to how the machine would behave with a dead cpu, i already tried different RAM with lower MHz and got no difference at all,
power the machine up and the monitor goes to sleep saying no video input, tried without and with a gcard yet still no difference
 
Couple things to try,

Have you tested the monitor/cable on another machine? (better safe than sorry)

If you take all of the memory out and try turning the machine on do you get an error beep?

I can't seem to find any useful documents on that particularly motherboard so perhaps someone else might know how to troubleshoot it.

I've also never had to diagnose a UEFI machine i'm assuming they behave the same as a standard BIOS.

the monitor is usally used as a 2nd monitor on my personal rig, i have since replugged it into my own rig as usual using the same dvi cable, it works fine.
I also have tried using a vga cable in the new machine with no difference in what happens
 
I will try using only 1 stick of RAM, i already tried using entirely different RAM 2400MHz 2x4gig with no difference.

Here's the process i used to build the rig:- brand new components out of box apart from psu

1st i installed my fathers old psu into the brand new chasis

2nd i installed the cpu/stock cooler onto the mobo followed by inserting the mobo into the chasis

3rd installed the brand new 2T hard drive and my fathers previous dvd writer

4th installed the RAM, plugged the monitor into the onboards dvi port and turned the power on both monitor 1st the machine 2nd

the power came on the fans are spinning the monitor display remained black a moment later my monitor displayed the message of no video input and the monitor goes to sleep/stand-by while the power is still all functioning.

I then tried using a VGA cable but got no difference so i then tried changing the RAM for complete different RAM and still no difference.
there is no beep as there is no speaker on the mobo or the chasis unlike my personal rig

First thought would be RAM. If it is not seated correctly a lot of mobos will flash on for a second then power down. You will then need to pull the cord out and replace before it will boot again. However, some will power on but not show anything on the screen (hence sleep/no input)

Check one mem module on the first DIMM slot and ensure it is fully seated then try again

Hmm does the mobo have an error code LCD? Can you forage a PC speaker from your other rig?
 
your using the built in graphics?

you only need to install one ram stick,no dvd rewriter or any hdd's

just cpu/mb/psu/ram stick and it should boot into bios or you'll see splash screen,try that

if its still not working try and test with another psu if you can,can also try a cmos clear and inspect cpu socket for any bent pins but do that as a last resort
 
gotten too tired after today so will do what needs to be done in the morning, will post back when i have reassembled the minimum components, thus far i'm starting to believe it's the motherboard thats at fault
 
do all the lights light up inc the dr debug clock if you have it? if the dr debug doesn't light at all then the boards dead

would be good if you can test with another psu as haswell needs the new low power idle state that some psu's cant do
 
It may be the fact you got a Z87 board and a DC chip, the board may not natively support the DC chip and need a BIOS flash first before it can support your 4790

the mobo is dead, it had even been taken off the overclockers site where i purchased it, and u can't flash a mobo if u can't see the dam bios now can u?????? thnx for trying to help but really some ppl need to have glasses on when reading
 
Yeah, so you wouldn't be able to get into the BIOS with a non supported cpu, so can't get into the BIOS. Probably easier to just return it like you said anyway, so all is good :)
