Hi all,

So my monitor was making this high-pitched whine for the last few days. This was getting annoying, but i could deal with it.

However, came to turn my PC + monitor on today, and the little light on the monitor flashes once, and that's it!

So it starts at off, flashes green once, then goes off. Pushing the button again makes nothing happen until i unplug / re-plug in the monitor, which makes the light flash once again.

Normally when going to standby or something the monitor has an amber light, but that has not appeared at all.

Monitor is a Phillips 200W6.

Now I was told it might be the Power supply on the monitor making the noise, so i opened it up to check the capacitors, all look OK

I Changed the Fuse/power cable, that didn't help (and power cable works on this crappy 15" CRT i'm using for the moment.

Any idea's on what i can do?

TL;DR
Monitor Broken

Things i have tried:

Changing power cable (+ fuse)

Taking it apart to check for burned out capacitors (all looked OK to me, none had burn marks/ were leaking)

Changing plug socket.

Turning on/off when connected/not connected to PC

Nothing has helped so far.

Any ideas?

Are you sure the caps are okay? Normally they bulge at the top if they are failing. Make sure to check they are not bulging and replace any that are.
