Hi,

I was hoping i might be able to get some feedback with referance to which monitor to pick , im fine with pcs etc but monitors i have no clue on currently i game on a pioneer krp 500a where as i lock my frames to 60.

The main thing i love about my pioneer is the colour repoduction which is still outstanding by todays standards , so this would be a important factor for me in purchasing a monitor.

My budget is 600£ i was looking at the acer predater and the asus rog due to gsync but 28" is the lowest size i would go with a preferance for 32". Do i really need gsync at this time or would i better with something else ?

While i cant comment on those monitors specifically without reading reviews,
if you want colour reproduction, you will be far better with an ips panel, however these will suffer from slightly longer response time.

The panels you linked are both tn so their colour reproduction wont be as good as a calibrated ips, however their response times are much quicker and have a higher refresh rate, at least the rog does.

So it depends whats most important to you, and what you will be using the monitor for, the type of gaming/how much gaming you will be doing.

Hi, thanks for the reply the monitor will be purely for gaming movies etc i will be using my pioneer krp 500a. Ill have to do some research it seems on ips panels as i think colour reproudction and black levels are important to a picture and would lean that way depending on response time diferences between panels.

I mean i think IPS is fine for gaming, they have improved a lot and some of the fastest ones are the low end of 8ms g2g.
They have a much better colour reproduction and viewing angles, heres a good example (not the best as its just videod i imagine the difference is much more pronounced first hand) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjmCKbhARJg

However those tn panels are strictly gaming oriented and have a lot going for them with super fast refresh rates and response times, and gsync. You would notice the difference a lot between these and ips in this respect, especially in fps games, or other fast paced ones. I believe the 4k one is limited to 60hz while the wqhd one is 144hz so if your going for gaming and want fast refresh rate i would choose the wqhd panel, unless you dont mind and can run games at 4k. (double check though i only skimmed the product details)

tftcentral and pcmonitors.info do some good reviews and have tons of information on the specific differences and what to expect when choosing ips/tn gaming monitors.
Heres an indepth review of the rog:

Compare to an ips review from the site and see what you think.
