So time for a new monitor since my old HP's are finally showing signs of breaking.

My budget is £250 but can push it to £300+ a little bit.

Looking at 31" 1440p 165Hz monitors.

Been out of loop for a long time, seems a lot of monitors are using VA panels but people are saying they bad for gaming, but a lot of these monitors claim to have 1 MS response times etc while TN seems to be the best but really old and there is IPS that gives the best colour but slower than TN etc.

Any suggestions please?

VA aren't bad, under certain circumstances, it's just they may show up the ghosting. From my VA I've found it's dark areas, side scrolling that'll have the trails . Even though it's supposed to be a gaming monitor

It's fine for Doom Eternal which is mostly bright.

be aware of pixel density, with a 27" 1440p it'll be quite fine, so text will look nice and sharp, also you could get away with no AA or lower AA at such higher pixel densities.

"LG UltraGear 32GP850 Quad HD 32" Nano IPS LCD Gaming Monitor - Black" is available at a high street retailer for £329, recently bought one and can recommend.
