Yep. Low input lag is essential, good colours, good angles, good response times, good looks. No squeaky stand.
I had a XL2370HD and it was a joke. The touch sensitive buttons worked about 5% of the time. The plastic stand was so wobbly it squeaked for about 10 seconds after the desk was tapped. I had 2 because both had problems or just sucked so badly so fortunately I got a refund from e buyer.
I use my PC for desktop use mostly, but I consider the PS3 via HDMI and the PC via DVI under gaming to be the more important. I also watch blu-rays from time to time on PS3.
It has to be 1920x1080. I've been checking myself for endless time. I actually looked for about 3 weeks prior to getting the XL2370HD. It seemed to have everything I needed, but it was quite a poor screen in regards to stand, buttons and speakers. I wouldn't expect great speakers on those combos anyway but it was indeed very poor.
Since my PS3 uses HDMI, at the moment my audio comes through the Samsung Syncmaster 2032MW (1680x1050) panel speakers. They're quite useless, which is to be expected. The PC uses audio through the stereo audio jack on my sound card. The speakers are Logitech X-230s.
The situation I am in is proving problematic. For one, combination monitors, aka PC monitors and TVs combined, are quite naff. Image quality might be there but the other features are generally half-assed. If I get a proper monitor, then my PS3 has no audio output. I already have limited desk space with those Stereo X230 speakers on, a Medusa NX Stereo headset which I use from time to time, an not much space left over. It'd be ridiculous to have two sets of stereo speakers hogging the same desk or another headset on there.
What should I do?
I'm limited to about £220 for a monitor. I'd rather not push beyond that. I need a good image quality because although I use it for desktop and gaming mostly, as I've said before, I do enjoy watching blu-rays.
