Monitor Swap - Good Deal?

I guess it depends on your needs.....the Dell is a TN panel, but there is lots of bad press about TN panels and this might not affect you :)
Ultimately, a TN panel has lesser colour reproduction quality, and poorer vieiwing angles generally - but this is offset by faster response times......horses, courses !
So if you are using the monitor primarily for internet, Windows stuff and gaming - and not standing at obscure angles ! - then perhaps there will be little impact. However, if you are looking at lots of movie viewing and/or colour specific work, then maybe a PVA is needed ?

I'm quite comfortable with my 16:9 (2048x1152) actually bought it so I can have several source code pages side by side for programming but I've ended up using it over my 24" 16:10 for gaming and movies as well... not sure I'd get on with 1920x1080 as well tho mind.

I suppose the trouble is as it is a replacement and it would have to be a 'similar model' to be suitable as a replacement. Do OCuk class the price tag as similar or the actual spec? It is roughly the same price I paid but is a TN rather than PVA.

Its mainly only going to be used for watching films so i suppose that would give me more image compared to 16:10. Atleast is is also a well known brand which is more than can be said for DGM. I haven't had any trouble with my Dell 2407 which is now a couple of years old whereas the DGM had a bit of a backlight flicker from early on.

I think I will wait and see. They shipped it out before I knew what was going on so I'll try unpacking it tomorrow if it arrives and then have to make the call on whether to keep it or not.

Cheers guys.
