Monitor Through Switch - Clarity

Hi.

I recently invested in a 19'' Acer widescreen LCD which I'm delighted with - the clarity of picture is perfect -I use it for both my PC and XBOX360 and hence swapped the cables over to the VGA socket.

I have now purchased a switch, allowing me to flip between the screens - the monitor connects via a VGA cable into the I/O port, and the 360 and PC in the ports.

However, the PC picture is now a very little bit off - therre is a faint shadow around some text.

I'm using a pretty normal, cheap VGA cable.

Is there any way of increasing this quality through the switch?

Thanks

Is the switch a beige metal box, cost about £10? If so, that is the problem. I have tried a couple of them and they always leave a shadow or poorer quality, even with good cables. You could get a shorter cable from the box to the monitor to shorten the distance.

I just swap the cables over on mine cos the quality isn't there. A KVM switch is better quality but doesn't work with the 360. (unless you get a manual switched one)
