Monitor to buy good value?

Hey guys. My long term plan is an LG OLED 4k display 65'' TV. At the moment they're priced a little too high, I'm waiting for them to be around 2-2.5k. I can't justify at present spending 1k on a monitor as I just think as PC gamers, we're getting royally mugged off compared to other display markets.

I have a GTX 670 but I have the money to upgrade it to a 1060/1070/480 comfortably but I'm holding out for VEGA to see what comes up as I have a huge backlog which my 670 can handle fairly comfortably.

However, I would like to delve into the possibility of a monitor for now as I miss a desk to KB+mouse more comfortably than on a couch.

What would be your suggestions of a good value monitor for:

1. 1080p
2. 1440p
3. Ultrawide

I'm a very casual gamer in all honesty, mostly single player games, not a competitive FPS player by any means so I'm not sure if a high hz display will be that useful.

[I feel like now isn't the best time to be getting expensive monitors with the slow transition and introduction to technologies such as oled/hdr/4k higher refresh rates so any suggestions will be much much appreciated!]

e.g. opinions on: AOC U3477Pqu, Samsung 40KU6400??
