Looking for new LCD screen for the PC, but I would also like to plug a Sky box into it. (Thomson DSI 4212). This is a stop gap until I sort a big screen out later.
The Dell 2407 would seem to be the ideal, with it's many connections,.... BUT, I didn't want to spend that much....

So any other screens to be considered, 19-22 wide would be fine....

OR an LCD TV good enough as a PC Monitor ??

L19T Black from Hyundai.

Its a TFT Monitor with a TV Tuner built in, so you just hook your Sky Box straight into the back via RF. I have this in my bedroom and it works fine.

The indea being that maybe one day I will build a small PC with Wireless so I can surf the web while in bed!

Will be upgrading it to a 23" later this year but for the price its a great bit of kit!

2407 Arrived today !!!

Well I couldn't make up my mind.... so said s** it and got the 2407... as PC will be the main use, and this is better for DVD's etc....

AND WOWWW it's big and stunning !!!!

Glad I went for it now :D

how did you connect your Sky box to your 2407??

i've been thinking about watching TV on my new 2407 as i got it 4 days ago.

is it as simple as plugging a cable in to the monitor from the sky box or do you have to like have uber electrical skills :-p

The dell 2407 has s-video/component and Composite Inputs..

I run my SKY HD box into my dell 2405 by component at 1080i,On my last sky+ box i used the S-video input..

One DVI-D Input w/HDCP Support
- One Analogue Input (VGA)
- One S-Video Input
- One Composite Input
- One Component Input

sorry to hijack the thread.

what is the quality of the picture like? i'm quite tempted by the idea of watching movies on my 2407 in bed at night but if the quality is low from a standard Sky box rather than Sky HD might not bother.

i think the make of my sky box is Pace.

there was a RF and scart port free on the back but i think i read somewhere that scart to component = worst picture ever. not 100% about that though.
