Hi All,

I just picked up a pair of Acer Nitro VG240YU (24 inch, QHD @ 75Hz) in a Cyber Monday deal.

I am using them with my Mac and Dell laptops and a Dell Docking Station (D6000, I have the same dock at work driving a 4k via DP)

The issue I have is that via DisplayPort, the monitors are only working in 1080p mode. If I switch to default res/1440 it does very briefly change and then the monitor shows 'no signal'

I've fiddled with menus to no avail and a brief Google has not turned up anything.

This works fine via HDMI at 1440; but my dock only has 1 HDMI port, and the dock does HDMI > USB-C

I could get some adapters/use 2 cables to my Mac instead of the dock but that is a bit clunky.

Would really appreciate it if anyone could shed any light. I am wondering if the DP cables Acer shipped are just not up to the job?

Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. Yes it is rather strange. I am going to try skipping the dock but to do that I need another cable. From my Mac it was only giving the 60Hz option anyway so I guess that is already covered. Swapping the cables between the screens didn't help.

It's the same with just 1 screen on the dock. I tried both separately incase there was a bad port. The odd thing is that the resolution does go up and I can see it for a second and then it goes to no signal.

So..it's ok via DP at 1440 with a DP to USB-C cable bypassing the dock..which works with DP at 4k with a different screen.

I'll try another cable from screen to dock but if anyone else has any suggestions I'd appreciate it as something isn't adding up :)
